فازت جامعة أسيوط بالمركز الأول للمستوى (B) وصعوده للمستوى( A) فى بطولة الجامعات المصرية الشهيد الرفاعي(51)، والتي نظمها الإتحاد الرياضي المصري للجامعات، بالمركز الأوليمبي بالمعادي، فى الفترة من 7 إلى 9 أغسطس الجاري، وذلك بعد فوز المنتخب على فريق التعليم العالي ٠/١ ، وعلى فريق أكاديمية السادات ٠/٢ ، وتعادله مع فريق جامعة طنطا ١/١ ، وبذلك احتل المركز الاول ليصعد إلى المستوى( A).
وهنأ الدكتور أحمد المنشاوي رئيس جامعة أسيوط، الطلاب الفائزين على مشاركتهم المُشرفة، وتمثيلهم للجامعة بتميز، مشيرًا إلى أن البطولة شهدت تنافسا قويا بين المنتخبات المشاركة.
وأشاد رئيس جامعة أسيوط، بشباب الجامعة المُتميز والمُبدع في مختلف المجالات والمسابقات الرياضية والثقافية والعلمية سواء على المستوى المحلي أو الدولي، مؤكدًا حرص الجامعة على تسخير كافة إمكانياتها وتقديم أوجه الدعم للطلاب المتميزين والمبتكرين والموهوبين في شتى المجالات، وتوفير بيئة حاضنة ومُحفزة لهم.
تأتي مشاركة جامعة أسيوط، تحت إشراف الدكتور أحمد عبد المولى نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون التعليم والطلاب، والدكتورة مديحة درويش المشرف العام على الأنشطة الطلابية، والدكتور هيثم ابراهيم مدير عام الإدارة العامة لرعاية الطلاب، وبتنظيم إدارة النشاط الرياضي بالإدارة العامة لرعاية الطلاب، وقد قام بالإشراف على الفريق الأستاذ إيهاب رمضان مدير إدارة النشاط الرياضي، كما قام بتدريب الفريق كلا من الدكتور عمر حلمى، الدكتور أحمد أبو الحمد، والأستاذ محمد عبد الحكم إدارى الفريق .
