أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن أنه يعتبر سلفه الجمهوري دونالد ترامب يشكل تهديدا حقيقيا على أمن البلاد، مؤكدا أن الأخير لا يكن أي احترام لمؤسسات الديمقراطية الأمريكية.وقال بايدن في مقابلة مع قناة CBS التلفزيونية اليوم الأحد: “تذكروا كلماتي، إذا فاز ترامب بهذه الانتخابات، فمن الضروري مراقبته عن كثب. إنه يشكل خطرا وتهديدا حقيقيا على الأمن الأمريكي”.كما أعرب عن ثقته في أن ترامب والجناح اليميني المتطرف من الجمهوريين في الولايات المتحدة “ليس لديهم أي احترام” للمؤسسات السياسية للديمقراطية الأمريكية.
وأضاف بايدن: “إننا نقف عند منعطف في تاريخ بلادنا. والقرارات التي تم اتخاذها خلال السنوات الثلاث إلى الأربع الماضية، والتي سيتم اتخاذها خلال السنوات الثلاث إلى الأربع المقبلة، ستكون المفتاح للعقود القادمة. ومفتاح كل شيء هو الديمقراطية”.
وتابع: “لقد أثبت كل ما كنا نعتقده، الآن يتحدث عن هجوم السادس من يناير على الكابيتول، لأنه ينوي الآن إطلاق سراحهم جميعا، إنه سيعفو عنهم من السجن”، مضيفا “إنه غير واثق من حدوث انتقال سلمي للسلطة إذا خسر ترامب، وأننا “لم نأخذ ما قاله ترامب “إذا خسرنا، فسوف يكون هناك حمام دم”.وكان الرئيس الأمريكي قد حذر من عدم ثقته في انتقال السلطة في الولايات المتحدة بشكل سلمي في حالة هزيمة ترامب، في إشارة إلى أعمال شغب مشابهة عام 2021.
