الكويت تدعو المجتمع الدولى لتطبيق مزيد من التشريعات اللازمة لحماية حقوق الأطفال
ودعت دولة الكويت المجتمع الدولي إلى تعزيز الجهود الرامية إلى تحسين وتنفيذ المزيد من التشريعات اللازمة لحماية أطفال العالم من العنف والفقر وحماية حقوقهم في التعليم والرعاية الطبية.
قالت عضو الوفد الدائم لدولة الكويت لدى الأمم المتحدة شهد المنيفي – أمام اللجنة الثالثة (الاجتماعية والإنسانية والثقافية) تحت بند “تعزيز وحماية حقوق الطفل”، ووفقا لتقرير الكويت وكالة أنباء اليوم الجمعة – أن عالمنا اليوم يواجه تحديات كبيرة رغم الجهود التي تبذلها الدول الأعضاء على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي. بالتعاون مع الأمم المتحدة، بما في ذلك تفشي الأوبئة مثل جائحة فيروس كورونا المستجد (كوفيد 19)، والتغير المناخي، واستمرار النزاعات المسلحة والحروب، وانعدام الأمن الغذائي.
وحذر المنيفي من عواقب هذه التحديات على ملايين البشر، معربا عن قلق الكويت العميق إزاء المعاناة الإنسانية والاجتماعية والمعيشية التي يواجهها ملايين الأطفال والتي كشفت عنها التقارير المقدمة تحت هذا البند.
وذكرت أن دولة الكويت تدعو المجتمع الدولي إلى التنسيق بين المنظمات والوكالات الدولية والمجتمع المدني من أجل توفير الحماية للمدنيين وخاصة الأطفال، “ونطالب أطراف كل صراع يحدث في أي جزء من العالم للسماح بإيصال المساعدات الإنسانية للمدنيين دون عوائق”.
وأكدت أن الكويت تدرك تماما أهمية تعزيز وحماية حقوق الطفل من خلال مجموعة من الاتفاقيات الدولية التي لها تأثير مباشر على حقوق الطفل، مشيرة إلى أنه «لا يزال هناك انتهاك لحق الطفل في أن يعيش حياة كريمة تحترم حقوق الطفل». إنسانيته وتحميه من العنف”.
