عن تضامنه مع سكان قطاع غزة، داعيا إلى وقف فورى لاطلاق النار، حتى لا تتفاقم المخاطر قد تطال المنطقة بأسرها، وأن تتوقف دائرة الانتقام الذى يمارسه الاحتلال.
واعتبر أن الاستيطان المستمر والانتهاكات تعد السبب الرئيسي فيما وصلت إليه الأمور من تفاقم، معتبرا أن حل الدولتين هو الصيغة الوحيدة التي من شأنها تحقيق الأمن للجميع، إلا أن إسرائيل فضلت الإستيطان عن الأمن وواصلت استفزازاتها واستمرت في خطاب تحريضي يدعو إلى الكراهية.
وأعرب عن تطلعه إلى اليوم الذي يمكن فيه أن تعيش فيه إسرائيل وفلسطين جنبا إلى جنب، في أمن وأمان، وهو ما لا يمكن أن يتحقق دون تأسيس الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة عند حدود 1967.
