قال منسق الشؤون الإنسانية في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، لين هاستينغز، إن الأمم المتحدة وشركائها في المجال الإنساني مستعدون لاغتنام الفرصة وحشد كافة القدرات لدعم تنفيذ اتفاق الهدنة وتعظيم أثره الإيجابي على الوضع الإنساني في غزة. من خلال زيادة العمليات الإنسانية حيثما يوجد أشخاص محتاجون.
ووفقا لمركز الأمم المتحدة للإعلام، أكد نائب المتحدث باسم الأمم المتحدة فرحان حق، على ضرورة السماح بإجراء العمليات الإنسانية في جميع أنحاء غزة، وخاصة في شمال القطاع… مؤكدا أن المدنيين في غزة لا يمكنهم الاعتماد على المساعدات الإنسانية وحدها، بل ويجب استئناف دخول البضائع التجارية، خاصة عبر معبر كرم أبو سالم الذي لديه القدرة على ذلك.
بفضل الجهود المصرية والقطرية والأمريكية، توصلت إسرائيل وحركة حماس، أمس الأربعاء، إلى اتفاق هدنة إنسانية، يستمر لمدة أربعة أيام – إلا أن دخولها حيز التنفيذ لم يتحدد بعد – يتضمن وقف الأعمال القتالية، ويتضمن إطلاق سراح 50 معتقلاً في غزة، وسيكون المفرج عنهم من جانب حماس (من النساء والأطفال). في المقابل، ستطلق إسرائيل سراح 150 فلسطينياً من السجون (الفلسطينيون المفرج عنهم سيكونون من النساء والأطفال)، وتسمح لمئات من دخول شاحنات محملة بالمساعدات الإنسانية والطبية والوقود إلى قطاع غزة.
