في الفترة الأخيرة تابعت عن قرب مجموعة من أنشطة ذوي الهمم، وما يستحق الاهتمام بإبداعات ذوي الهمم، في مصر وعدة دول عربية، فالصورة مختلفة تمامًا، كثير من المبدعين من ذوي الهمم أثبتوا قدراتهم في كل مكان، وحققوا نجاحات.

ولا يمكن أن ننسى أبان بن عثمان بن عفان الذي أصيب بالصمم بل كان أحول وأبرص ثم أصيب بالفالج، وكان من الفقهاء التابعين، وعيّن والياً على المدينة المنورة عام في العقد السابع الهجري، وذاك أبو الأسود الدؤلي وكان أعرجًا، إلا انه نصيبه من الشجاعة والذكاء كان علامة بارزة، ليصبح قاضياً ثم أميراً، ولا ننسى بشار بن برد الذي ولد كفيفًا، إلا أن الشعر كان أداة تفرّده، واستحق أن يُوصف بأنه أطبع أهل عصره في الشعر.
